Röhlig Logistics successfully completes its annual "Röhlig Charity" initiative
Bremen, 12 December 2023
The owner-managed logistics company Röhlig Logistics has carried out its global "Röhlig Charity" initiative for the third time in 2023. Röhlig subsidiaries in almost 30 countries have supported over 30 charitable institutions and projects across the globe.
Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner at Röhlig Logistics, explains: “Röhlig Charity takes place at the country level and is all about creating positive change for the communities in which we operate. Every year, we invite our employees to nominate charitable projects that they consider worthy of support or even support themselves. Subsequently, they can choose which of the suggested charities their respective country organisation should donate to by participating in an online vote.”
Strong employee commitment
As every year, employees worldwide embraced the initiative and were keen to get involved. Rachael Longley, Regional HR Manager for North Europe, says: "Röhlig Charity is a great way to get involved locally and our team really appreciate the opportunity to support projects that they feel truly passionate about. With many charities struggling in the current circumstances, we are especially pleased to lend a helping hand.”
Wide array of supported charities
The donations mainly benefit aid projects for people as well as environmental and animal welfare projects. These include Paul Harris School in Chile, an educational facility for children with special needs; Cancer Society in New Zealand, an organisation dedicated to reducing the incidence of cancer and ensuring the best possible cancer care, and Headspace Roskilde in Denmark, a free and anonymous counselling service for children and young people. Also among the winning charities are the disaster relief organisation Hope Bridge in Korea as well as the animal welfare charity Jakarta Animal Aid Network in Indonesia. Röhlig plans to continue the global charity initiative in the coming years.
About "Röhlig Charity"
The global charity initiative is just one component of the “Röhlig Charity Programme”, under which Röhlig supports various organisations and institutions worldwide. In 2023, the logistics service provider also supported the “ASB-Wünschewagen” with 15,000 euros. The project is aimed at fulfilling a last transport wish for critically ill people. Additionally, Röhlig supports the "Pebbles Project" children's and school project in South Africa with over 20,000 euros over the course of three years.
