At Röhlig Logistics, caring for people is central to what we do, not just for our team members, but also for the communities in which we operate. Our Röhlig Charity Programme aims to give back to those in need. When Röhlig Netherlands had the opportunity to make a real difference thanks to the 2023 Röhlig Charity Project, the team were excited to help. After an employee vote, we are delighted to announce our new partnership with the Ronald McDonald House! We are proud to support them so we can be stronger together for local children and families.
On Monday 11th September 2023, Röhlig Netherlands' General Manager Wim Diepenhorst and Sales and Marketing Manager Desirée Langius visited the Ronald McDonald House in Rotterdam to donate €5000.
About Ronald McDonald House
Ronald McDonald House Rotterdam provides accommodation for parents of seriously ill children admitted to Sophia Children’s Hospital. Based on the idea that families should always be together, even during difficult times, the House allows parents to stay close to their hospitalised child.
The Ronald McDonald House is located just 200 steps from the hospital entrance, enabling parents to be by their child’s side day and night. An overnight stay costs €75, with parents contributing €15 and the remainder funded by donations known as “goodnight kisses.”
During their visit, Wim and Desirée saw first-hand how the House lets families stick together and supports parents when times are toughest.
Wim said, “Seeing the House at work really drove home how crucial their services are for parents going through unimaginable challenges with a sick child. We're pleased to lend a hand through our donations.”
