It works! An apprenticeship and dual study programme at Röhlig Germany

Start your career in an international environment. Röhlig Germany offers you a direct start – both through an apprenticeship and through a dual study programme. As a business person in freight forwarding and logistics services, you will get to know the global world of logistics and take on responsibility at an early stage. Our Hamburg-based subsidiary Röhlig blue-net offers two professional apprenticeships – as an IT specialist in either system integration or application development.

‘After studying business administration in Münster, I was given the opportunity to work for the company in New Zealand at the start of 2007. I was intensively supported by Röhlig and my colleagues were very supportive too. That’s really something very special! I returned to Germany after eight years, but my family and I never let go of our longing for New Zealand. After discussing this possibility with management, we found a solution together and we’re back living in Auckland today.’

Personnel development programme

We offer a number of options: Would you like to spend a few years abroad? Or would you prefer to be permanently based at a fixed location so you can get off to a proper start there? You’ll find the right perspective with us. We foster your professional development through further education and training programmes. Our management trainee programme provides the basis for long-term success. In three years, you’ll get to know every facet of logistics and will be involved in the daily business of operations, sales and finance. And abroad too! Whether it’s South Africa or Australia, we are present in more than 150 locations worldwide and offer first-class preparation for your career. 

As a trainee, you also take part in our ‘Blue Step’ management programme, where you will further develop soft skills like leadership and intercultural skills. You can find more information here.

Is management the same as leadership? What leadership style suits my nature? And how do I approach interpersonal relationships with my colleagues? It’s no question that if you take on more responsibility you have to be prepared for it. Blue Step is aimed at employees who have had initial leadership experience and want to further develop their skills. The programme takes place in head office in Bremen and includes two training modules. Topics like management, finance and intercultural skills are taught in practice and in theory over five days. As well as training, the programme starts with an individual development centre, which we carry out together with an external trainer.

We prepare experienced managers for senior management tasks through the ‘Blue Arena’ programme. The programme lasts 12 months and combines three five-day training modules. Personal management and leadership qualities are further developed, and current industry knowledge deepened based on a current project. A development centre is planned at the start and end of the programme.
