Röhlig India and Mexico offer short notice logistics solution

India team called upon to provide a short notice logistics solution

Earlier in February our logistics team in India received a call from a customer requiring a last-minute shipment from Ahmedabad to Mexico. Not only was the shipment required urgently, the customer also advised our team of the high-stakes nature of delivery being made on time.

Our Head of Sales and Operations in Ahmedabad, Rajendra Choudhary, is no stranger to assisting customers with urgent deliveries. Utilising his expert knowledge of airline operational processes, Mr Choudhary quickly determined that using a PAG pallet would avoid delays caused by cargo being split and re-palletised.

Our goal was to add one more example to Röhlig’s ever-growing number of success stories.

Meanwhile, Assistant Manager for Operations in Ahmedabad, Archita Patel, also played an instrumental role in ensuring the cargo reached its destination safely and securely. In Mexico, Air Import Operator Ricardo Manrique arranged the appropriate documentation needed for the timely arrival of the cargo. With everything in order, the PAG pallet and accompanying cargo was loaded onto the flight at midnight on the same day.

There was so much satisfaction to gain from this 1-day challenge.  At the end of the day I got to learn something that that I did not know that morning.

Freight forwarding within 36 hours

Later, the carrier sent a Telex message to their hub to ensure a 2-hour quick ramp transfer. This resulted in the cargo being successfully airlifted to Mexico within 36 hrs from inquiry to destination, leaving our customer highly satisfied with both our efficient turnaround and reliable links with the carrier.
