San Miguel Yamamura appoints Rohlig Australia as global freight forwarder for its bottling division

San Miguel Yamamura has engaged Rohlig Australia Pty Limited as sole partner for global freight management services, bottling division, for China and South East Asia trade lanes.

The two year partnership is designed to create the most efficient logistics process with full visibility and integration of the supply chain.

Rohlig Australia has been working closely with San Miguel Yamamura over the past 12 months and managed many critical and time-sensitive airfreight shipments during this time. As a result, the company has already built a successful and strong relationship as a reliable freight forwarder.

“We are excited to be partnering with San Miguel Yamamura and working with the established leader in the packaging space,” commented Thomas Hansen, Rohlig’s Regional Director, Australia and New Zealand.

“Rohlig Australia has built a strong foundation with dedicated account management services and has established a transparent, automated supply chain solution for San Miguel Yamamura. We look forward to consistently delivering value through this partnership and growing our businesses together.”

Benetau Yacht Prototype – Project Logistics Shipment

Benetau Yacht Prototype – Project Logistics Shipment

Harnessing over a century of research and development, Beneteau is renowned for building elegant and powerful racing pedigree production yachts.

The Challenge

Our customer needed to ship a high end prototype Benetau yacht from France to Australia for a Boat Show exhibition beginning 2nd August. The yacht was an out of gauge size and needed to be in Sydney by 27th July to meet show installation deadlines. The major challenge that Rohlig faced was with delivery timeframes. The boat build would not be completed till 31st May and an added challenge was that transport via normal breakbulk transit would not meet delivery deadlines.

Solution

Rohlig Australia managed the end to end design, delivery and execution of this solution to ensure the fastest and safest form of transportation for our customer. The yacht was loaded in parts e.g mast and body onto flat racks to create space and ensure efficiency of unloading, most importantly, for protection of the prestige yacht. The yacht was then loaded onto a container ship which delivers faster transit times and more regular services than breakbulk transport methods.

The Result

The Benetau yacht was delivered safely, within budget and on time to meet the boat show deadline. The customer was very impressed as the whole shipment went through without a hitch.

Jordan Faure, who managed the project for Rohlig Australia says “We are honoured to have our client trust us to provide a solution for this amazing high performance yacht. Rohlig was able to provide a high quality, super-fast service and “move beyond barriers” to provide the best solution for our valued customer.”

Changes to Chinese Competent Authority issuing certificates

Changes to Chinese Competent Authority issuing certificates

Certificates of origin

The China – Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) came into action 20 December 2015. Now the Chinese government has changed the authority that is in charge of issuing official government certification.

Since 21 August 2018, all entry-exit inspection and quarantine duties are managed by the General Administration of Customs of the People's republic of China (GACC). The former General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) is now been suspended. As a result, certificates and stamps have changed.

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources states that:

  • Certificates issued up to 20 August 2018 should be issued by AQSIQ (CIQ logo)
  • Certificates issued from 21 August 2018 should be issued by GACC
  • If CIQ certificates are dated after 20 August 2018 they should be referred to the department as potentially fraudulent
  • The security features have not changed
  • GACC logo, letterhead and stamps will replace the AQSIQ/CIQ logo, letterhead and stamps
