Röhlig Australia supports Foodbank volunteering program

Röhlig Australia supports Foodbank volunteering program

In the lead up to the festive season, Röhlig Australia have teamed up with Foodbank Australia to assist with packing food donations for Australians in need of food relief.

We believe that global businesses can make a positive impact on improving environmental and social practices through their supply chains. With this in mind, staff and customers from each state volunteered to pack hampers, label boxes and fill bags with fresh food to support local communities experiencing food insecurity.

We would like to thank our staff and customers who volunteered and so freely gave their time to help others during this busy time of year.

It wouldn't be teambuilding without a video. Check out this 30 second video  of the Sydney team in action volunteering for Foodbank.

If you would like to get involved in volunteering with Röhlig, please contact your Röhlig Account Manager.

General Rate Increases and Industry notifications

General Rate Increases and Industry notifications

Bunker Adjustment fee effective 1st January 2019

Bunker fees are one of the important cost components for the shipping industry. Oil pricing has shown strong fluctuations in the recent months.

In addition, all vessels in the shipping industry are expected to be operated with low sulphur fuel oil (less than 0.5%) by 2020. This is the key solution for a greener shipping industry and all carriers must remain compliant.

In order to ensure the sustainability and reliability of service , most shipping  lines will introduce a new quarterly Bunker Adjustment Formula (BAF) for all contracts and all cargo from 1st January 2019.

The BAF level will be reviewed at the end of every quarter. Röhlig  will continue to update customers of these fluctuations as they arise.

Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSS) effective 2nd January 2019

The 0.50% Low Sulphur Surcharge (LSS) has been reviewed and will now be applicable for all shipments to/from China (all destinations and origins), Taiwan & Hong Kong effective for Bills of Lading dated 2nd January 2019.

General Rates Increase from all Asian Ports to Australia from 1st January 2019

Carriers will be implementing a General Rate Increase (GRI) on all cargo moving from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and South East Asia to Australia effective 1st January, 2019:

Rates:

  • USD 300 per teu from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea
  • USD 200 per teu from South East Asia

Terminal Infrastructure Charge Effective 1st January 2019

Stevedore terminals across Australia have announced an infrastructure charge increase to road and rail operators for access to the three east coast terminals, and will also adjust a number of ancillary charges.

As a result, Röhlig Australia will be implementing changes to our port infrastructure and booking charges to ensure our continued service levels to customers.

The charges below are effective from 1st January 2019 and will appear in your local invoicing statement.
