Update on Brown Marmorated Stink Bug (BMSB) Season 2018/19
Dear Valued Rohlig customer,
We are now over two months into this year’s BMSB season. The 2018 season to date has seen a much more severe geographical spread of the bug in comparison to previous years.
This has resulted in increased fumigation measures at Australian ports, creating treatment and processing delays throughout the country.
The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has advised that they are currently experiencing delays in processing shipments from risk countries including:
|United States of America|| |
The Department has identified emerging countries as below. Currently, shipments from these emerging countries are being inspected at random.
As per Röhlig’s previous customer notices we strongly recommend offshore treatment to bypass all local delays and associated costs. Please view the detailed pdf notice here.
Röhlig have proactively set up robust processes and controls to specifically manage customer shipments affected by BMSB and ensure the most efficient and cost effective outcome.
Please contact your local Röhlig Customer Service representative should you have any specific questions regarding your shipment.
The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources provides the latest detailed information on BMSB measures and importing requirements.
