Direct to Wharf Container De-hire Charge

Important notice effective 1st April, 2018: container transport companies are introducing a Direct Terminal De-Hire Fee for containers returned into terminals, rather than designated Empty Container Parks.

As you may be aware, there is an increasing reliance on shipping lines to mark delivery orders for de-hire return into terminals, rather than designated Empty Container Parks.  As a result, container transport companies are introducing a Direct Terminal De-Hire Fee.

This charge will have an impact on Rohlig’s operational costs and due to this, we have implemented the following fees for all empty containers returned to terminals:

  • Sydney        $115 per container
  • Melbourne   $115 per container

Note: These charges will apply only when we are required to de-hire empty containers to stevedore terminals.

At this stage, all other ports nationally are yet to implement additional charges.

We are working closely with our transport providers who operate within these ports and will update customers if there is any change.

Rohlig Australia values your custom and your feedback. If at any stage you have questions, please do not hesitate to speak with your Rohlig Account Manager.
