Johannesburg. Effective from 1st March Kuben Reddi takes over from Sarel Pretorius and becomes the new Managing Director at Röhlig-Grindrod.
For more than four years, Reddi has been the Managing Director of Kapele Freight and Logistics, Johannesburg, a subsidiary of Rohlig-Grindrod SA.
Prior to that, Reddi spent 15 years with a multinational logistics provider - many of those working with previous Rohlig-Grindrod MD and current board member, Hylton Gray. While there, he served in various senior management roles, including head of seafreight operations in SA.
Kuben Reddi is 38 years old, married and has two children, aged 11 and 7 years old. When asking him for his first intentions in his new role, Kuben says “the success of a company depends on the quality of those managing and working for it. Therefore I will place a big emphasis on the upskilling of staff, to make sure that we can continue in our prominent position in the South AfrIcan and international marketplace.”

While Kuben Reddi is taking over on the 1st March, Sarel Pretorius, 63 years old, signs off from his role to enjoy his retirement with his family, however, remains as an advisor to the organisation. “Our sincerest thanks and appreciation go to Mr Sarel Pretorius, who managed our largest subsidiary for the past three years and went successfully through the 2009 crisis“, says Ian Hamon.
With a record result in 2010 of ZAR 67 Mio PbT, Sarel Pretorius remains in memory as one of the most successful Managing Directors in the Röhlig network.
