Bremen. According to preliminary figures for the past fiscal year, Röhlig, the Bremen logistics service provider, has increased its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) by 10 million euros to almost 13 million euros, exceeding even the pre-crisis year 2008. The consolidated gross profit increased by 23 percent to 83.2 million euros.
"Our companies in Asia, Pacific, South America and Africa, that have all grown well over 30 percent, contributed equally to this positive development“, says Chief financial officer Hans-Ludger Körner. "But also Germany with an increase of nine percent and Europe with a plus of 18 percent, have developed well."
Röhlig is represented in 29 countries with 120 own offices. In 2010, the company also benefited from the strong growth in the emerging markets. In China, the gross profit rose by 55 percent, in India even by 77 percent. "It pays off now that we have accelerated our investments in IT and have switched over our recent acquisition in India already on SAP / Cargowise. Otherwise, we could not manage the global order growth of more than 20 percent " says Hans-Ludger Körner.
In the current year, Röhlig focuses more on the U.S., where business has received a special boost in the second half of 2010. The increasing dynamism of the U.S. economy led to soaring Röhlig transport volumes on both the Pacific as well as in the transatlantic market. Not only because of this development the Röhlig board is confident to reach the growth target of 15 percent in 2011.
