Röhlig & Co. expands its Executive Board

Ulrike Baum joins the Executive Board of the worldwide logistic provider as CHRO

Bremen.  Effective from 1st July 2010 Ulrike Baum was appointed to the Executive Board of Röhlig & Co. as Chief Human Resource Officer.

For more than 15 years Ulrike Baum has been working in different managerial capacities at Röhlig & Co. In the past seven years she has been responsible for Personnel Development. In her new position as Chief Human Resource Officer she will be responsible for Human Resources and Corporate Communication for the whole Röhlig group.

On 1st February 1995, after having finished her apprenticeship as logistic manager and her economic business studies Ulrike Baum started working at the Controlling Department of Röhlig & Co. From 1997 to 1999 she has been the Department Manager South Africa at the Röhlig Hamburg office.

Ulrike Baum is married and has two children, aged 11 and 8 years. In 2004 Röhlig has given procuration to her. With global personnel development programs like Blue Arena and Blue Step, Ulrike Baum has successfully expanded the Personnel Development for the whole Röhlig group within the past seven years.

On the occasion of his 60th anniversary, Thomas W. Herwig, who is the Managing Partner of Röhlig since 1985, announced his intention to gradually hand over his present responsibilities. Moreover he will no longer pursue any operational functions. Henceforth Thomas W. Herwig will preside the Executive Board of Röhlig as Executive Chairman.

Within the past years our company has continiously grown and, as one of the few family-owned companies, Röhlig has successfully asserted itself on the logistics market“, says Thomas W. Herwig.

„It has been of particular importance to me to preserve the responsibility for Human Resources on the Executive Board level. Therefore I am very pleased to trustfully hand over my present responsibilities to Ulrike Baum“, says Thomas W. Herwig and wishes her good luck and success for the accomplishment of her varied tasks.
