Röhlig acquires South American partner

Bremen. The owner run forwarding company Röhlig has acquired 100 per cent of its long-standing premium agent Procargo in South America. “South America is one of the major growth regions in the world. We believe that by acquiring 100 per cent of our local partner we have gained a strong position in the market,” says Thomas Hansen, Röhlig CEO Americas/Africa. Global expansion of its network is an important part of Röhlig’s Strategy 2018. Röhlig had already acquired a 50 per cent share of Procargo in 2011 and thus significantly strengthened their presence in the growing South American market. The developments so far have confirmed this course: The business volume has increased considerably since 2011, and is expected to continue to grow.

Röhlig has national subsidiaries in Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, Paraguay and Uruguay. With the addition of agent agreements with local partners in other important markets such as Brazil and Colombia, Röhlig has obtained a region-wide presence on the South American continent. Furthermore, the Weiss-Röhlig branch in Miami, USA serves as a gateway between the South and North American markets.
