Head of Sea Freight - APAC Region

Rohlig Global Sea Freight is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to lead our APAC Sea Freight team. This pivotal role is based in the heart of Singapore and offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our sea freight operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
Responsibilities
- Lead the APAC Global Sea Freight Product team, driving volume development and margin optimization.
- Act as a subject matter expert in ocean-related matters, both internally and externally.
- Collaborate with Sales and GTM to develop competitive pricing solutions, enhancing business volumes.
- Strategize and implement effective FCL/LCL procurement aligned with our Global strategy.
- Oversee and improve Gross Margin on dedicated trade lanes, in line with strategic objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key carriers, including negotiation and contract management.
- Provide transparent trade lane carrier reporting and maintain effective communication with our global network.
- Ensure FCL/LCL rate visibility through our global rate engine.
- Actively participate in budget planning and management.
- Drive the FAK policy and manage trade allocations.
Skills required
- Extensive experience in sea freight forwarding and procurement.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with proven negotiation skills and strategic thinking.
- Proficient in English, both verbal and written.
- Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel and Access.
- Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently and adept at virtual communication.
- Demonstrated leadership in a matrix organization.
