Bremen, 07 April 2025 - 2025 marks the fourth year of Röhlig Logistics supporting the Bremen Wünschewagen (Bremen Wish Wagon). The aim of this charitable initiative – run by the ASB Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund Landesverband Bremen (Bremen Worker’s Samaritan Federation) - is to fulfill a last heartfelt wish for seriously ill people. A team of volunteers accompanies them onboard the specially-equipped vehicle to visit a personal favourite destination.
“The Bremen Wünschewagen team does a wonderful job and we are delighted to continue our commitment to this important project. With our donation of 12,000 euros, we want to help ensure that as many wishes as possible can continue to come true. As an international logistics service provider based in Bremen, it is very important to us to support both regional and international charity projects through our ‘Röhlig Charity Programme’”, says Philip W. Herwig, Managing Partner at Röhlig Logistics.
Rainer Macke, who oversees the ASB project, explains: “We are very grateful to be able to count on the support of Röhlig Logistics again. Donations like this enable us to respond flexibly to requests and fulfill even more wishes. Last year, for example, the wish of a former vet who wanted to visit the animal enclosure in Bremen's Bürgerpark once more was very touching. We also organised various trips to the seaside, to family celebrations and, for the first time, to the Weser Stadium (home of Bundesliga football club SV Werder Bremen).”
The ASB-Wünschewagen is entirely run by volunteers and financed exclusively through donations. The volunteer Samaritans not only accompany the trips but are also involved in other areas such as public relations and fundraising.
