Environment

Climate change and its consequences require decisive action, and this on a global scale. Only if every actor in business and society accepts its responsibility will the necessary climate targets be achievable. The magnitude of the challenge, but also the urgency of the situation, are making the the Environment to a central point as part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).  In the following, we provide an insight into the various fields in which Röhlig is making a contribution to conserving resources and reducing emissions.

Sustainability at Röhlig

Energy efficiency at our facilities

Electricity and other forms of energy consumption, like the burning of fossil fuels for heating purposes, account for the largest part of the global total energy consumption. The consumption of electrical energy and thermal energy pollute the environment depending on the type of energy source. We at Röhlig collect and analyse data on energy consumption and energy efficiency to identify opportunities for improvement and to identify best practices that can be applied across the Röhlig world. 

Water as a natural resource

Reducing water consumption is an important element of our environmental programme. Therefore, we are actively working on improving our corporate water footprint.

We manage and use our water resources in a targeted manner in compliance with legal requirements, and monitor and report water consumption. 

Waste Management

Responsible waste management is an important component of sustainability at Röhlig. Our primary goal is to avoid generating waste in the first place. Otherwise, the aim is to reuse, recycle or - as a last resort - safely dispose of waste as far as possible. Röhlig follows the directives and regulations of the EU.

Environmental Management 

ISO 14001 was developed to improve the environmental performance of a company. Introduced in 1996 and continuously adapted and revised since then, it provides standards and guidelines for effective environmental management. It covers the areas of planning, implementation, control and improvement of environmental measures.
