By seamlessly integrating Hapag-Lloyd’s Live Position API into its systems, Röhlig now enables customers to track their containers with precision, similar to parcel tracking. They gain access to real-time updates and the specific geographic location of the container. “We are thrilled to be the first freight forwarder to bring this level of transparency and control to our customers. The Live Position technology leverages smart Internet of Things (IoT) devices attached to containers, which transmit location data every 15 minutes. This information is fed into Röhlig’s operational systems via an API, which was co-developed by Hapag-Lloyd and Röhlig’s digital spin-off, cargonerds.
