Award For Family-Friendly Personnel Policy At Röhlig
Within a joint project of the federal state of Bremen (Germany) Röhlig has been honoured for its family-friendly personnel policy. The awards ceremony took place on 3 November 2009 in the historical town hall of Bremen. The Senator of Commerce Mr. Ralf Nagel handed over the award to Mrs. Ulrike Baum (Head of Personnel Development) and Mr. Jörg.-A. Cordes (former Managing Director of Röhlig Germany, now Managing Director of R + C Commodity, a new subsidiary of Röhlig).
Since April 2008 Röhlig has been participating in the audit berufundfamilie, initiated by the charitable trust of Hertie. This audit focuses on the company's offers in the area of work-life-balance. To mention some examples Röhlig supports parents in emergency cases of child care, offers programmes for children during their school holidays and makes it possible to work partly from home or to take a sabbatical of up to 6 months.
Röhlig employees welcome the work-life-balance programmes, as for example Silvana Schemmel from our office in Stuttgart (Germany) says "The opportunity at Röhlig to work from home allows me to go on working while also honouring my commitments for my family".
