"You can only achieve the really big goals with the help of a strong partner."
Dr. Stefan Lehnert, Managing Director Vector-Foiltec GmbH
In 1982, the Bremen company Vector-Foiltec developed an innovative technology for synthetic roofs and adjacent cladding. The UV-resistant and extremely long-lasting constructions have opened new ways to architecture and increasingly replace classic glass roofs. One of the most famous projects of the world market leader is the National Aquatics Center for the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
"More than 90 percent of our projects are not for German clients. This poses a special challenge: for a project in Greece, we had first taken care of the logistics ourselves - we had to buy material in the USA, then transport it to India for further processing and finally ship the products to Europe. However, significant problems occurred during transportation and customs clearance. We feared a considerable delay of the project. At this point, Röhlig stepped in and managed the further transport with extraordinary dedication.
This experience showed us quite plainly: we have to confide complex logistic tasks to an expert. We need a partner who is present on all important markets - and, in situ, takes matters into his own hands. We found such a partner in Röhlig. The special aspect of this partnership is that we just need to sketch our requests; Röhlig understands immediately and finds a solution. That is why we have entrusted all material logistics for the construction of the rugby stadium for the 2012 world championships in New Zealand to Röhlig.
Our collaboration exceeds the classic relationship between client and service provider by far: Röhlig not only manages transport and storage of our goods, but also assists us with opening up markets. Whenever we want to establish our business in a new country Röhlig places their contacts, their knowhow and even their local premises for acquisition talks at our disposal. And should Röhlig for once not be on site we can be sure that the company knows the right persons to contact."
