China Port Authorities - Dangerous Goods Update

China Port Authorities - Dangerous Goods Update

Port Authorities in China are implementing additional rules limiting the acceptance of Dangerous Goods (DG) in the following ports.

a) Tianjin / Xingang / Qingdao and Changshu Ports: All DG cargoes are forbidden until further notice

b) Huangpu - Shi Gao Ao Terminal (only): IMO Class 6, 8, 9 and UN1384 are still permitted to transit the terminal subject to existing rules and regulations in the port. IMO Class 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 are prohibited until further notice

c ) Zhangjiangang Port: IMO Class 1, 2, 4.2 and 4.3 are forbidden. All other DG shipments are acceptable subject to existing rules and port regulations

These restrictions are applicable to all imports and exports for the above mentioned Dangerous Goods to and from these ports with immediate effect.

In case shipments are already on board to these destinations, alternative solutions will be analysed on a case by case basis. Diversion to alternative ports or the return of import cargo to its original load port may be required.
