This month we’ve launched a new LCL direct service route in South China, we’ve been sending small parcels all over the world with our new ‘Rohlig Courier’ service and our key staff have been busily socializing at client events. We’ve also been busy expanding our global footprint with new offices in Mexico and Indonesia and we have our fingers on the industry pulse, tracking customs updates and rate increases.

We would like to welcome two new customers to the Rohlig family:

Mercator Lighting who manufacture, import and distribute lighting and fans. 

Zodiac Pools who import and distribute all things pool equipment related.

Rohlig LCL Direct Consolidation from Shenzhen

The team at Rohlig Australia are excited to announce the expansion of our direct consolidation LCL between China and Australia. Our regular service from Shenzhen to Sydney and Melbourne has been expanded to include further coverage in LCL freight around the Pearl River Delta regions in South China.

“This LCL consolidation expansion forms part of our ongoing strategy to increase our service offering to customers.” Says Ryan Sponneck, Head of Ocean Freight at Rohlig Australia. “Our new dedicated consolidation between China and Australia will offer improved transit times, greater cost efficiency and faster access to your cargo on arrival.”

Our scheduled services run as below:

  • Cut-off in Shenzhen: Tuesday, departure Monday
  • Transit time : Shenzhen to Sydney 12 days  
  • Transit time: Shenzhen to Melbourne 15 days
  • Pearl River Delta regions include Guangzhou, Foshan, Jiangmen, Shantou, Shunde, Huangpu, Zhongshan and Zhuhai.

On April 20th, Falk Rexnord officially opened their new Service and Repair Facility in Bennett’s Green, Newcastle, celebrating with a customer and partner event to mark the occasion. 

The evening was a great success with Falk Rexnord showcasing their latest product portfolio of power transmission and conveying components.

Conditionally Non-prohibited goods notice

The Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has published industry advice detailing how conditionally non-prohibited goods will be managed if they arrive without a required import permit.

What has changed:

From 9 April 2018, the department will no longer facilitate the clearance of conditionally non-prohibited goods that arrive without the required import permit.

Goods that require a permit, but arrive without one, including where an application is currently under consideration, will be directed for export from Australian territory or required to be destroyed in an approved manner.

Emirates SkyCargo Fuel Surcharge

Emirates fuel surcharge increase beginning 1st May 2018

In line with the aviation fuel price index and Emirates airlines indicator found at skycargo.com, the fuel surcharge will be 0.35/kg EUR / USD. This applies to inbound shipments for Australia starting on shipments departing the origin airport from May 1st, 2018.

We will continue to monitor the situation and update accordingly if there are any further changes. Please speak directly with your Rohlig Account Manager if you have any concerns or questions.

  • 14% for FCL Sea Freight
  • 12% for LCL Sea Freight and Airfreight
